Quick Start Guide
Everything you need to set up your PatterNest in a few minutes. This guide covers both of our products. Find yours below and follow every step in order before the first use. Most "it doesn't work" issues come from a skipped step.
| Your product | Remote | Go to |
|---|---|---|
| PatterNest Sleep Nest (the patting plush: bunny, bear, goose or giraffe) | Yellow remote | Part 1 |
| Calming Patting Hand (the soft patting hand) | Black remote with 3 buttons | Part 2 |
Golden rules for both products
- The patting will NOT work right out of the bag. First charge the motor, then unplug it, then turn its power switch ON.
- Charge only with a standard 5W USB wall adapter. Never use a fast charger: it can damage the chip and the battery.
- A red light stays on while charging and turns off when full (about 1 hour). Before the first use, charge for at least 30 minutes.
- The device does not work while charging, and it stops automatically after about 15 minutes to protect the motor. Just press the remote again to restart.
- A full charge lasts about 2 hours of use.
Part 1: PatterNest Sleep Nest
The patting plush with the yellow remote and soft lullabies.
What's included
- Your PatterNest plush (bunny, bear, goose or giraffe)
- Motor unit: the small white device that moves the paws to give gentle pats. It sits inside the plush.
- Yellow remote control
- Charging cable
Can't find the remote or cable? They are usually tucked inside the plush. Open the zipper or opening and check carefully.
Setup, step by step
Open the zipper or opening on the plush and gently take out the motor unit, the remote and the cable.
Tip: close the opening again once you finish setup.
Plug the included cable into the motor unit and into a standard 5W USB adapter. Wait until the red light turns off (about 1 hour).
Unplug the cable, then slide the small power switch on the side of the motor unit to ON. This is the most commonly missed step. The remote will not work until this switch is ON.
Put the motor unit back in its place, with the moving part facing the paws, and close the opening. Do not cover the plush with a thick blanket, or the remote signal will be weak.
Remove the plastic tab from the remote if there is one. Point the remote at the plush, press the red power button, then use the buttons below.
Your yellow remote
Your remote may have small printed labels on some buttons. Use the position of each button as your guide.
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Top, red button | Power: turns the patting on and off |
| 2nd row, left | Previous song |
| 2nd row, middle | Play / pause the music |
| 2nd row, right | Next song |
| 3rd row, left | Volume up |
| 3rd row, middle | Nursery rhymes |
| 3rd row, right | Volume down |
| Bottom button | Function: changes the mode |
Part 2: Calming Patting Hand
The soft patting hand with the black 3-button remote.
What's included
- Your Calming Patting Hand
- Black remote control with 3 buttons
- Charging cable
Setup, step by step
Plug the included cable into the charging port and into a standard 5W USB adapter. Wait until the red light turns off (about 1 hour).
Unplug the cable, then slide the power switch to ON. The remote will not work until this switch is ON.
Point the remote at the hand and press the pink button. The hand starts patting at a medium speed. Use the other two buttons to make it faster or gentler.
Your black remote
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Bottom, pink button | Power: starts the patting at medium speed and turns it off |
| Middle button (wavy lines) | Faster patting |
| Top button (single wave) | Gentler patting: press once for normal, again for slow |
Troubleshooting
If something isn't working, check these points in order:
| Problem | What to check |
|---|---|
| Nothing happens when I press the remote | 1) Is the charging cable unplugged? 2) Is the power switch ON? 3) Has it been charged for at least 30 minutes? 4) Did you remove the plastic tab from the remote? 5) Did you press the power button first? 6) Are you pointing the remote at the product? |
| It doesn't work while plugged in | This is normal. It does not work while charging. Unplug the cable and try again. |
| It stopped by itself | It stops automatically after about 15 minutes to protect the motor. Press the remote again to restart. |
| It does not charge | Use the included cable, fully inserted, and a standard 5W USB adapter. Never use a fast charger. The red light should turn on while charging. |
| The remote works only sometimes | Point the remote at the product, get a little closer, and make sure it isn't covered by a blanket or thick fabric. |
| The patting is weak or stops early | The battery is likely low. Recharge it fully. |
| I can't find the remote or cable (Sleep Nest) | Check inside the plush. They are stored inside the opening. |
Care & cleaning
- Always remove the motor unit before washing the plush cover.
- Hand-wash fabric parts gently in cool water with mild soap and let them air dry completely.
- Never put the motor unit, the remote or the cable in water.
- Recharge whenever the patting becomes weaker, always with a standard 5W adapter (never a fast charger).
Safety
For use under direct adult supervision only.
- Do not leave the product in the crib or near a sleeping baby without supervision.
- Make sure the product never covers the baby's nose or mouth.
- Warning: remote controls may contain a coin battery, which is dangerous if swallowed. Keep the remotes out of children's reach.
